Here is a quick tutorial on playing what I call " Carolina Slide".
Here is my CBG slide theory for what I call the "Carolina slide". Quick and painless .....and all you need is a chord sheet of your song.( best to start out on stuff you know how to sing)
There are only 7 whole notes, A B C D E F G, 5 more if you count the sharps/flats for a total of 12.
The notes are arranged in this order.
A - BC - D - EF - G ( dashes are the sharps/flats) What ever you tune to, the 1st fret will be the next note.
Example. Tuned DGBD ( open G )
open - no frets- G
1st fret (slide over 1st fret on all strings) Ab ( A flat)
2nd fret - A
3rd- A# ( A sharp)
4th-B
5th-C
6th-C#
7th-D
8th-Eb
9th-E
10th-F
11th-F#
12th-G ( starting over - one octave higher)
Tuned open D? (D F# A D)
no frets- D
1st fret-Eb
2nd-F
and so on .....
Just follow the chord sheet, and slide to the correct position for the note.
You can either strum or finger pick in this manner.
